Looking for a quick and easy felt food project? These adorable felt carrots are perfect for beginners and can be made in no time using a sewing machine!


In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to sew carrots that are great for pretend play kitchens, Easter baskets, sensory bins, and handmade gifts.

  • Brown or black embroidery floss or thread

  • Polyfill stuffing

Step-by-Step Sewing Instructions



Step 1: Prepare the Carrot Topper

Using scissors, cut along the marked lines on the green topper square as indicated on the pattern. Be careful not to cut all the way through. Set aside.

Using brown or black thread, sew running stitches along the marked lines on the carrot body piece to create the carrot texture.

Fold the carrot body in half with the wrong side facing out.

Using a 1/8-inch (3 mm) seam allowance, stitch along the long raw edge to form a cone shape, leaving the top opening unsewn.
