Step-by-Step Bat Wings Sewing Tutorial

Step 1: Cut the Fabric

Using the pattern, cut 4 wing pieces:

  • 2 pieces for the front

  • 2 pieces for the back

Cut the elastic according to your project size.

Step 2: Attach the Elastic

Place the elastic at the center attachment edge on one side of the wing, as indicated on the pattern. Stitch the elastic in place to secure it.

And here's a little reminder: It doesn't have to be perfect! 😊

Your stitching doesn't need to match the pattern exactly. I promise it'll still look great!

Just take your time and have fun with it. 💕

Step 8: Insert the Wire and Finish

Starting at the center of the wings, carefully insert the wire into the casing, Stitch along the outer edge to close the casing.

Slowly work the wire around the wings, bending and shaping it as you go. Continuing until the outer edge is completely closed.

Important: Be careful not to sew over the wire with your sewing machine needle.

All Done! 🦇✨

And there you have it! A pair of adorable bat wings for your porch goose or doll!

Give the wings a little final shaping, and they're ready to wear.

I love how the flexible wire lets you adjust the shape of the wings. You can make them look like they're spreading out, flying, or resting.

Pair these wings with the matching bat mask for a complete little bat costume!
