🎃 Let’s make a cute little witch hat for Halloween! In today’s sewing tutorial, I’m showing you how to make an easy felt witch hat with a FREE sewing pattern! 💜✂️ I originally made these little witch hats for my dolls, but of course…I couldn’t leave my porch geese out!

🪿 So I created sizes for dolls AND porch geese.

The pattern includes sizes for:

💕 6" Doll

💕 14" Doll

💕 18" Doll

🪿 17" Porch Goose

🪿 23" Porch Goose

This is a fun little Halloween sewing project and a great way to use up felt scraps. You can leave your witch hat simple and floppy, or add a running stitch to create that cute scrunched look and lightly stuff it for a little more shape. 🧙‍♀️✨

If you like the classic pointed witch-hat shape, you're done. Or keep going for a fun scrunched look.

Step 6 – Create the Scrunched Look

Along the back of the hat cone, sew a running stitch through the felt toward the top.

Attach the circle using whichever method you prefer:

  • Hand stitch it in place

  • Sew it in place with your sewing machine

  • Hot glue it in place

The felt circle will close the bottom and keep the stuffing securely inside.
